Final grades are confirmed against the buyer specification, destination rules and available lot. The points below are the main details to agree before quotation.
- Commercial grade
- Grade is based on maturity, rhizome development and buyer expectations for retail or processing.
- Size and fibre
- Rhizome size, finger thickness, fibre level and acceptable size tolerance are specified by the buyer.
- Condition
- Cleanliness, firmness and tolerances for cuts, shrivelling, mould, decay and mechanical damage.
- Buyer checks
- Crop date, residue limits, phytosanitary needs, carton ventilation, net weight and transit-temperature planning.
