Grading and quality points
Final grades are confirmed against the buyer specification, destination rules and available lot. The points below are the main details to agree before quotation.
- Commercial grade
- Retail, wholesale or processing grade agreed according to intended use and market presentation.
- Bulb size
- Minimum diameter, size range, clove development and pack-count tolerance are buyer-defined.
- Condition
- Firmness, outer-skin finish and tolerances for loose cloves, staining, sprouting, mould or damage.
- Buyer checks
- Crop and curing status, cleanliness, residue and phytosanitary requirements, net weight and ventilated packing.
